Information:

Hi! I'm a summer project student working at The University Of Nottingham in the 'Bell Lab.' My project involves working with a cytochrome p450 (4X) and producing p450 protein using various techniques. Before I came here I had done very little lab work (I avoided practicals!), let alone molecular biology. During my time here I have learnt many useful techniques and the experience is definitely worthwhile.

As for the staff/students here, they are great - very friendly and helpful. I am working alongside brummy 'neurotic neill' who makes me laugh all day, and almost cry at having to hear someone moan for so many hours! Then there's Chris and Sunny - the final components of the triad of charlatans!!! The morning is usually started in a classy fashion by reading Dec's Daily Star! Working at the Bell Lab is fun and hardly feels like work (although the lit reviews and weekly meetings can be quite draining!). David has been fun to watch in the lab with his liver extracts going all over the place! And I'm glad he gave me the opportunity to work here, although the ongoing 'encouragement' to do a web page has been rather distressing!

Well, I've finally done my first web page (with a lot of help!) and have only got about 5 weeks left working with some great people - I can only hope that my hopeless mistakes aren't relayed to the next summer student to make them feel better, because its embarrassing enough as it is! And I hope that I am remembered for Live, Creed and Lifehouse, if nothing else!!!
